The history of Ilja Sercl and Armytech.com

  • 1957-1961 4 years of German School Autowerkzeugmeister und Maschinenwerkstattmeister at old arms factory Franz Neumann with 15 years. Shortly before the last German experts had to leave the factories and were deported to Germany. After the war the factory was producing arms for the Russian army instead for the German Wehrmacht.
  • 1961-1965 Werkzeugmeister munition production
  • 1965-1969 Automobile School Mlada Boleslav
  • 1969-1975 Technician in Car Service
  • 1975-1990 Ilja Sercl got the technical manager of RTL (Racing Team Liberec) representing Czech Republic in the Eastern block.
  • By technical improvements RTL won in 15 years of existence 12 times the main pocal of “peace and friendship”. At this races all eastern block countries including Russia took part. Races with the capitalistic countries were not allowed. The races were run with Skoda 140.
  • 1990-1992 the eastern block broke down and the state didn’t have money to invest in the development of racing engines anymore so Ilja Sercl started with small scale overhaul and mechanical tuning of motorcycle, car, ship, small airplane and ship engines for private owners
  • 1992 – 95 Tuning BMW engines for “Master of Czech Republic”. Driver Josef Wenz won 5 seasons with the racing engines of Ilja Sercl.
  • 1995 started general larger scale overhaul of all kind of engines (car, motorcycle, tank, ship engines and rare old-timer engines)
  • 1995 – 2000 Tuning for Formula Skoda (Mister Republic) Engines of Sercl won the 1., 2.and 3. place for 5 years.
  • 2000 till now we dedicate all our time on high quality engine overhaul, as the Czech racing teams don’t have enough capital anymore. One of our most important clients is the War Museum in Prague (Lezany).
